Arrival Routine & Learning Centers
Our daily learning centers provide a variety of experiences for the young child. They allow for safe exploration of the classroom environment and encourage participation in new activities. Center Time will be set-up for both teacher directed experiences as well as free play time for independent exploration. Center themes are changed daily with 3 kinds of learning fun.
• Sensory Play (PlayDough, Kinetic Sand, Moon Sand, Rice, Paints, Water, and More)
• Community Play (Babies, Cars, Trains & Planes, Vet. or Doctor, Diner & Bakery, Houses, and More)
• Puzzle or Building Play (Wood Blocks, Magnetic Building, Sight Word Games, Puzzles, Sorting, and More)
These are designed to promote fine & gross motor skills, imaginative play, social interacting, independent play, and so much more.
Circle Time
During Circle Time, our students begin our day with our morning songs, calendar and weather, and choose their classroom helper job. Children naturally love helping. Therefore, we encourage this quality with our Preschoolers. Also, being in charge is important for little ones, as it helps them feel competent and fosters independence.
Show & Tell
Just like when we were growing up, Show & Tell will give each student a moment to “shine” in front of their peers while sharing something special. Plus this gives our children a wonderful introduction to public speaking, social development & interaction, and participation in an engaging activity.
Specialty Classes
Preschool has 4 Specialty Classes that take place each week.
P.E.: Challenging and fun activities that include; tumbling, obstacle courses, “Driving” course training (on trikes) & Red Light - Green Light, soccer skills, running, Freeze Dance, and lots more.
Art: Our students will be introduced to many different art styles and mediums, as they learn fun and engaging ways to draw, sculpt & paint!
Music & Dance: Our students will be having fun as they dance and learn various styles of music and explore different instruments.
Spanish: Studies show that it is beneficial that children learn as many languages as they can. Each week our students will learn Spanish, a wonderful and useful language that will also help with recognizing the spelling and meaning of words in our English language, as well. English is mostly derived from Latin/Spanish, Germanic, and French, this helps with our student’s ability to recognize new words (ex. Amor = Amorous or Feliz = Felicity or Lavar = Lavatory).
Science
A fun adventure that takes our student’s imaginations to great heights! We will learn something new each week! We will make volcanoes, explore space with rocket ships, plant seeds that will grow into plants, cook, learn about bugs, break open dinosaur eggs, create buildings with popsicle sticks, our 5 senses, learn about the weather & rainbows, and lots, lots more!
